November Birdfeeding Tips
Late fall migration continues with Rusty, Brewer's, Yellow-headed, and Red-winged Blackbirds, grackles, and cowbirds moving South. Be on the lookout for juncos, White-throated, Golden-crowned, and White-crowned Sparrows arriving at bird-feeding stations. These sparrows generally remain in the same wintering area. Stock your bird feeders with millet and mixed seed sprinkled on the ground or a low platform feeder, create a brush pile nearby, and these sparrows will make your yard their winter home.
